Roy "Rodie" Farr III, 69, of Edinburgh, died at 8:16 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born in Indianapolis, May 28, 1944, the son of the late Mary Virginia Shaffer Farr and Roy Farr Jr., of Edinburgh. He married Camie Moore on December 23, 1964, and she survives.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by daughters, Kristy (Derrick) Abney and Tiffany (Ben) Ballenger, both of Columbus; a son, Michael (Christina House) Farr of Hope; his stepmother, Dorothy Chandler of Edinburgh; sisters, Sharon Gosney of Edinburgh and Brenda (Jerry) Church of Franklin; and nine grandchildren.
Rodie was a 1963 graduate of Edinburgh High School, and was a member of the former First Christian Church in Edinburgh. He was a member of the NRA, and retired in 1996 after 30 years of service at Allison's in Indianapolis. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, woodworking, hunting and cars.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh. The Rev. Lewis Burton will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
