Mary Louise Weir McDaniel, 93, of Hawthorne Drive, died at 6:10 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at The Rock Church, 3990 Rocky Ford Road, with the Rev. Brian Buterbaugh officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem.

Born Sept. 23, 1920, Mary was the daughter of Oliver and Zella Maude Rush Weir. She married Willis M. McDaniel in 1945. He preceded her in death Aug. 3, 1969.
After graduation from Salem High School in 1939, she was employed at Charlestown Powder Plant until her marriage when she became a homemaker. Mary was a member of The Rock Church and was formerly a member for 50 years of the Free Methodist Church where she held offices as director of CYC. She directed many bible school programs through the years and loved participating in many bible studies. She loved reading and taking care of flowers.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen (William) Ferguson of Columbus; a son, Ronald (Carol) McDaniel of Seymour; grandchildren, Jason (Brenda) Ferguson, Janae (Daniel) Rittenhouse, Randy (Natasha) DuLong, and Jeremy and Jennifer McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Cole, Chase, Cooper and Cody Ferguson, Tobi DuLong and Logan DuLong.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her father, Oliver Weir; her mother, Zella Maude Rush Weir; a son, Carl Ray McDaniel; a daughter, Brenda Kaye DuLong; two brothers; and one sister.
