Nelda “Jean” Bunch, 81 of Columbus, entered eternal life at 7:50 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Bunch was born January 2, 1933 in Barren County, Ky., the daughter of the late John and Vera Hurt Woodcock.

She married Charles “Jack” Bunch in Rossville, Ga. on January 19, 1949 and he preceded her in death on June 16, 2003.

Mrs. Bunch retired from the Housekeeping Department at Columbus Regional Hospital and was a former employee of the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation and Lee’s Inn.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her grandchildren.

The funeral service celebrating the life of Jean will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.

Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Mrs. Bunch is survived by two sons, Rex (Teresa) Bunch and Jeff “Bo” Bunch, both of Columbus; two daughters, Nelda Wright and Jackie Miracle, both of Columbus; a brother, Billy Woodcock of Columbus; eight grandchildren, Todd Wright and Alisha “Nikki” (Rick) Scalf, both of Columbus, Justin (Amber Jackson) Bunch of Huntington, and Wesley Bunch, Grant and Sidney Orso and Allyson and Kaitlyne Bunch, all of Columbus; two great-grandchildren, Braden Cusano and Olivia Orso, both of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband of 54 years, Jean was also preceded in death by a son, Daryl Bunch; two brothers, Jack and Phillip Woodcock; and three sisters, Evelyn Perkins, Ruth Emmitt and Jeanette Brumett.
