Mentha M. Scrougham, 86, of Columbus, departed from this life on May 5, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
She was born in Brown County December 2, 1927, to Lewis and Daisy Mullis Followell. She married Dale Scrougham June 25, 1954. He preceded her in death August 21, 2012.
A member of Hope Apostolic Church, where she was a song leader and Sunday school teacher, she loved to read the Bible and do word searches. She was a homemaker and had worked at the former Roviar Shirt Factory.
Mrs. Scrougham is survived by a sister, Evelyn (Robert) Smith, and a nephew, David W. Smith, both of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Earl Followell; and a sister, Deloris Milby.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
