Maurice W. Kuhn Jr., 67, a lifelong Rush County resident, passed away at his home May 8, 2014, with his family at his side. He was born January 19, 1947, in Rushville to Maurice W. and Wanda (Kemp) Kuhn. Junior was a 1965 graduate of Manilla High School and served honorably in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
He married Pamela Schmaltz on October 5, 1968. She survives.
A lifelong Rush County farmer, he also owned and operated Kuhn Orchard. Junior was a deacon and a former trustee at Arlington Christian Church. He was a founding member of Rushville Township Volunteer Fire Department where he had served since 1981. He loved tractor pulls and was passionate about his IH 460.
He is survived by his wife, Pam, of Rushville; a son, Billy and wife Gina Kuhn of Rushville; a daughter, Missi and husband Shawn McNealy of Hope; brothers, Phil and wife Judy Kuhn of Rush County and Jim and wife Beverly Kuhn of North Carolina; sisters, Kay Rogers of Homer and Nancy Crousore of Indianapolis; and grandchildren, Brittany Kuhn, Brady McNealy and Will Kuhn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Carlyle Maurice McNealy.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 12, at Arlington Christian Church where friends are welcome to visit from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 11. Donald Heller will preside and burial will be in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Rush County Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors and Rushville Township Volunteer Fire Department will provide fireman's honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Rushville Township Volunteer Fire Department or Arlington Christian Church.
Moster Mortuary, Rushville, was entrusted with arrangements.
