James Franklin Robertson, 90, of Hope, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Robertson retired from Reliance Electric where he worked as a gear technician. He served aboard the USS New Jersey with the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hope. He spent most of his time and loved every minute that he spent with his family. He also loved watching westerns.
The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Tim Dillingham officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery with military graveside honors.

Born April 1, 1924, in Appalachia, VA, James was the son of Walter Carl and Nola Mae Holly Robertson. He graduated from Appalachia High School and then attended Virginia Tech. He married Violette David March 22, 1946. She preceded him in death in October of 2005.
Survivors include children, Jim (Sharon) Robertson of North Vernon, Robyn (Jerry) Sams of Hope and David (Julie) Robertson of Columbus; grandchildren, Jason Sams and Cindy Sams of Indianapolis, Shawn (Cathy) Robertson of North Vernon and Tyler Robertson of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Kylie Fulbright of Indianapolis, Savannah and Olivia Harris of Indianapolis, Jimmy Robertson and Caleb Fish of North Vernon, Aliyah and Kingston Robertson of Columbus, and Brittany Siebert and Jerrica Sams of Indianapolis; and a sister, Bettye (Ed) DeBerry of Roanoke, VA.
James was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a brother, Holly Robertson; and a grandson, Bryce Robertson.
