Makenzie Nicole Brown, 14, of Falcon Drive, died at 6:23 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at Columbus Regional Hospital Emergency Room.
Makenzie was an eighth-grader at Central Middle School. A member of Kiddin' Around Goat Club the past five years, she attended Bethel Baptist Church and was the manager of Central Wrestling Team.
She enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Adam Carrigan officiating. Family and friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bartholomew County 4-H.

Makenzie was born in Columbus on April 1, 2000, the daughter of Ryan D. and Heather D. Strahl Brown.
Survivors include her mother, Heather D. Brown, and stepfather, Justin Lienhoop, both of Columbus; her father, Ryan D. Brown of Columbus; grandparents, Garry (Karen) Strahl of Columbus, Roy D. and Lori Burton of Columbus, and Richard and Debra Budd of Columbus; great-grandparents, Robert and Janice Baker of Columbus, Ransom and Joan Strahl of Columbus, Roy E. and Darlene Burton of Columbus, and Bobby and Sheila Durham of Texas; stepgrandparents, Bruce and Lisa Lienhoop of Columbus and Greg and Judy Kueterman of Indianapolis; a stepgreat-grandmother, Wynona Lienhoop of Columbus; and many, aunts, uncles and cousins.
