E. Highway 50
L. Alan James, 50, of E. Highway 50, died at 11:23 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, in Indianapolis.
Alan was born February 8, 1964 in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of Carroll F. and Imogene Mix James.
Alan was fantastic in sports, and he enjoyed playing golf, attending family gatherings, fishing, and was an avid reader, especially regarding history. He was a Christian. Alan was employed in several retirement centers and nursing homes throughout the country as an administrator.
A memorial service will be held at at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Parkside Baptist Church with the Dr. William Bailey officiating. Visitation will be from from 1 p.m. until time of services at the church. Burial will take place at a later date at Graham Cemetery in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made to the Parkside Baptist Church Building Fund.
Survivors include his daughter, Amelia James of Noblesville; his mother, Imogene Mix James of North Vernon; a brother, Keith Austin (Patricia Ann) James of Columbia, Tennessee; a sister, Carol Jean James of Edinburgh; and nieces and nephews, Kevin A. and David M. James, Edward Wells, and Kristin Plummer..
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Carroll F. James.
Services were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
