Harold W. Sage, 71, of North Vernon, Indiana, died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, in North Vernon.
Harold was a 1961 graduate of Crothersville High School and retired in 1996 after 34 years with Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, where he worked in quality control. He was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 4097 and a member of Sons of Am Vets Post No. 7, both in North Vernon. He loved NASCAR, horse racing, Greyhound racing, and baseball and was an IU basketball fan.
Harold was born February 4, 1943, in Jennings County, the son of Harold L. and Kathleen Keith Sage. He married Judith Kiefer September 19, 1971, at the Methodist Church in North Vernon.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cindy (Jamey) Richardson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Angie (Walter) Grills of North Vernon; and six grandchildren, Jake and Caroline Richardson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Nate, Spencer, Dalton and Caleb Grills, all of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Ralph Hillenburg officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to service on Saturday. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
