Karianne Nicole Bjordal, 21, of Columbus, Indiana, died Thursday, June 12, 2014, as the result of an automobile accident.
Kari was born March 18, 1993, in Indianapolis, and was a lifelong Columbus resident. She graduated from Columbus North High School with the class of 2011 and attended Ivy Tech College. She was a waitress, having been recently employed at Chili’s and previously at IHOP. She especially loved her dogs, Carter and Bella.
Kari leaves behind her mother, Tamara Merriman of Metamora, Indiana; her father, Eivind Bjordal of Volda, Norway; a sister, Liz Bjordal of Greencastle; a brother, Kenny Bjordal of Bedford; and grandparents, Kenneth and Sue Merriman of Bedford and Anna Bjordal of Norway.
Visitation for Kari will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 19, followed by a time of sharing at 7 p.m., at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, 3855 25th Street. Kari’s family will be hosting a come-and-go time of food and fellowship to remember Kari’s life from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at the Hope American Legion building, 208 W. Washington Street in Hope. A balloon release will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday. She will be laid to rest with private services at Dixon Chapel Cemetery at Leesville, Indiana.
Kari’s family requests that contributions in her memory be made to Bartholomew County Humane Society to reflect Kari’s love of animals.
