Janice Ann Gilpin, 69, of Bayberry Drive, died at 11 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Janice was born June 10, 1945, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of Paul and Adah Dickason Duncan. She married Chalmus "Chuck" Gilpin June 6, 1963.
She enjoyed dirt racing, country music and clogging and loved spending time with her companion, Whitey.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, and one hour prior to the service Friday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice of charities.
Survivors include her sons, Troy (Gail) Gilpin and Todd (Gina) Gilpin, both of Columbus; sisters, Wanda Gill and Mabel Pruitt, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Shawn Gilpin, Devin Gilpin, Carson Gilpin, Ashley Gilpin and Shelby Littiken; a great-granddaughter, Lilianna Gilpin; and her companion, Whitey Estes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chalmus "Chuck" Gilpin, who died December 26, 2002; her parents; and a sister, JoAnn Herr.
