Eric L. Hagen, 46, of Trafalgar, died at 11:43 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility following a short but brave fight with cancer.
Eric was born in Tachikawa, Japan, the son of Charles W. “Chuck” Hagen III and Adrianne Zahnle Hagen. He graduated from Bloomington High School North with the class of 1985 and then graduated from the Purdue University School of Engineering, with a degree in aeronautical engineering. He was employed by Cummins Engine Company as an engineer and was a longtime resident of Trafalgar.
Eric had been active with the Boys Scouts of America and enjoyed amateur radios.
In keeping with Eric’s wishes, cremation is planned with a gathering of family and friends planned by the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Eric’s survivors include his father, Charles W. “Chuck” (Marilia Davares) Hagen III of Nashville; children, Jessica Hagen and Benjamin Hagen, both of Trafalgar, and Elizabeth Arroyo of Seymour; an older brother, Charles W. “Chuck” (Melissa) Hagen of West Lafayette; a sister, Shannon (Matthew) Wenger of Bloomington; his companion, Cynthia “Cindy” McCourt of Trafalgar; his former wife, Michelle Hagen of South Carolina; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Adrianne Zahnle Hagen on May 13, 1993.
