Rosie L. Poynter, 74, of E State Street, died at 5:25 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Rosie was born August 5, 1939 in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, the daughter of Edgar L. and Clara Poore Jessie. She married Arthur Yvon Poynter, December 14, 1954.

Rosie enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren along with fishing and working puzzles.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Wes Jones officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice of charity.

Survivors include her husband; children, Donna (Donnie) Sitterding of Medora, Yvonne Marie Poynter (Larry Banks) of Midland, Michigan, Pamela (John) Lorentzen of Greenwood and Stacey (LuAnne) Poynter of Bargersville; brothers, Hobert England of Columbus, Ernest and Larry England, both of Kentucky; a sister, Barbara Jessie of Columbus; grandchildren, Michelle (Jeff) Sharp, Dustin Sitterding, Katelyn, Paige and Savannah Lorentzen, Samantha Poynter and Lauren Whewell; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Nathan Sharp; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Jessie; her mother, Clara England; step-parents, Kizzie Jessie and Curt England; grandparents, Minnie and Wood Poore; brothers, Edward, James and William Jessie and Curtis England; and sisters, Edna Jessie and Nancy Craft.
