Beulah B. Mayes Brown Marcum, 86, of 25th Street, went to Heaven at 1:33 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at Hickory Creek Health Center in Columbus. She was born September 10, 1927, to the late William Crump Mayes and Hattie Jane Poynter of Kentucky.
Beulah had a zest for life. She enjoyed flowers, traveling and her Siamese cats. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Glenn Poynter officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 until 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery.

Beulah is survived by her children, Steven (Ramona) Marcum Sr., Robert Brown, Rex Brown, Carson Brown, Sharon Brown, Stella (Don) Buchanan, Danny Brown, Jack Brown, James Brown, Helen (Jess) Alpha, and Lois Burton; 30 beloved grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Sigel E. Marcum and Oakley Brown; a son, Oakley Brown Jr.; a brother, Earl Mayes; a sister, Opal Hartley; and one grandchild.
