Charles Dean Owens, 70, of Seymour, died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at The Crossing, Seymour.
He had worked as a semi driver for Rose Acre Farms and had been a mobile home salesman for various companies such as Baird's, Bill’s, Abraham's and Graham's. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Columbus, enjoyed dancing and was a member of Mountain Baptist Church in Seymour. He had served in the National Guard for three years.
Born August 29, 1943, in Brownstown, Mr. Owens was a son of Brock and Ruth (Blackwood) Owens.
Survivors include three children, Dana (Dana) Scarberry, Kathy (Bill) Hammers and Carla (Mike) Cutshall; four stepchildren, Glenda (Kenny) Pearson, Eddie (Kim) Baird, Dean (Kelley) Baird, and Thomas "Mushy" (Leann) Shouse; one brother, Jim Owens; former wives, Sandy Owen, Phyllis Campfield and Judy Young; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home with the Rev. Van Breeding officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.
Memorial donations may be made to Mountain Baptist Church.
