Kay D. Skinner, 75, of Virginia Street, died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Willow Crossing Health and Rehabilitation of Columbus.
Kay was born October 25, 1938, in Seymour, Indiana, the daughter of John and Esther (Lahne) Peters. She married Fred Skinner Jr.
Kay was retired from Target and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. She loved watching the Pacers and knitting, enjoyed being outside with her neighbors, and most of all, spending time with her precious family.
The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Teike officiating. Calling will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Survivors include a son, Tim (Jeri) Skinner of Texas; daughters, Angie (Dan) Summers of Columbus and Lisa (Andrew) Barksdale of Greenwood, Indiana; a sister, Marietta Wilkerson of Elkhart, Indiana; grandchildren, Courtney Fish, Emma, Olivia and Katelyn Barksdale, Megan Hembree, and Chris (Courtney) Hembree; and a great-grandson, Hudson Hembree.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred, on March 22, 2007; a brother, Robert Peters; and sisters, Lorainne Stanfield, Stella Kovenor, Dorothy Delaney, and Alice Buchanan.
