Wallace S. Harmon, 76, of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin, Indiana. He was born Feb. 27, 1938, in Edinburgh, to the late Jesse and Sally J. (Burton) Harmon. He married Brenda Kay (Russell) Harmon, and she survives.
He also is survived by a son, Terry Wayne Harmon (companion Tracy Conover) of Mooresville, Indiana; daughters, Robin (Dan) Perritt of Whiteland, Kelly Denise Harmon of Franklin, and Laura Lynn Harmon of Taylorsville; brothers, Joseph G. (Marilyn) Harmon of Columbus, and James R. Burton of Edinburgh, six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Marie Harmon; brothers, Winfrey Burton, Darrell Burton, Roy Burton, Billy Harmon and Rufus Cowan; and sisters, Melba Joan Harmom and Connie Campbell.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, he retired in 1995 from Cummins Inc. in Columbus after 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting.
Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Whosoever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Guy Hardin and the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
