Lawrence "Brownie" Hendershot, 95, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 7, 2014, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, following a brief illness. He was born August 7, 1918, in Arcola, Illinois, the son of Nathaniel and Eva (Jewell) Hendershot.

He graduated from high school in Columbus, Indiana, and served in the Army Air Corps during 1945. He retired from Muncie Metal Spinning in 1983.

Mr. Hendershot had served as Sunday school superintendent, song leader, usher and teacher at Mayfield and Forest Park Church of the Nazarene. More recently he served as usher and greeter at New Horizon Church of the Nazarene.

He was married for 59 years to the late Betty Jo McKinney of Freetown, Indiana, who passed away in 1999. He married Letha Manlove, Muncie, Indiana, in 2001.

Survivors include his wife, Letha Manlove Hendershot; three sons, Stephen Hendershot, (wife, Judy) of Sun City, Arizona, Paul M. Hendershot, (wife, Nancy) of Muncie, Indiana, and James N. Hendershot, (companion, Colleen Dailey) of Muncie, Indiana; two daughters, Annis Aumann of Overland Park, Kansas, and Juanita Ruth Mullins of Muncie, Indiana; three stepsons, Nathan Manlove, (wife, Jana) of Noblesville, Indiana, Jeffrey Manlove, (wife, Rebecca) of Berne, Indiana, and Daniel Manlove, (wife, Loretta) of Indianapolis, Indiana; 15 grandchildren, Stephen L. Hendershot Jr., (wife, Kathy), Melvin Hendershot, (wife, Lisa), Michael Aumann, (wife, Mindy), Ursela Trantham, (husband, Tim), Jonathon Aumann, (wife, Heather), Christy Lemasters, (husband, Mike), Karen Large, (husband, Jake), Laura Ricks, (husband, Dan), Jacob Hendershot, (wife, Lisa), Matthew Hendershot, (wife, Tracy), Michael Hendershot, (wife, Dawn), Daniel L. Mullins, Leslie Wilson, (husband, Brent), Jason Mullins, (wife, Ashley), and Megan Manlove; 33 great-grandchildren; his sister, Ruby Roseberry; and several nieces and nephews, including Carl Bowman of Muncie, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents' his first wife, Betty Jo; four brothers, Rosco, W. Jewell, Irvin and his twin brother, Loren; three sisters, Laura Wright, Ruth Schneider and Edell Hendershot; his son-in-law, Ekkehard Aumann; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Hendershot.

Services will be held at Parson Mortuary in Muncie at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, with Pastor Michael Konkel officiating. Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Parson Mortuary and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
