Dorothy Love McConnell, 96, of Columbus, formerly of Bloomington, died Friday at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.
Born May 8, 1918 in West Baden, she was the daughter of William L. and Lillian Mae Sparks Love.
She retired from First National Bank of Bloomington, now Chase Bank, as a bank teller. She was a member of the Cross Roads United Methodist Church for 57 years, Eastern Star and the Monroe County Historical Society. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa “Terri” and John Belden, of Columbus and Catherine “Cathy” and Ralph Norris, of Newport News, VA; five grandchildren, Kimberly (Mark) Farr, of Columbus, John Michael (Libby) Belden, of Greenwood, Steven (Kelley) Heavyside, of Portland, OR, Dan (Stacey) Heavyside, of Bell Port, NY and Ken (Anne) Heavyside, of Vancouver, B.C. and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ervin “Mac” McConnell; and her sister, Betty Ruth Gunther.
The funeral service will be on Monday at 1p.m. at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home in Bloomington with Rev. Ray New officiating. Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
