Donald L. Barnett, 63, of Elizabethtown, died at 4:35 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at his home.
Born in Columbus May 26, 1951, Don was the son of Earl T. and V. Irene Spiker Barnett. He married Pamela L. Crecelius February 10, 1990. She preceded him in death February 2, 2002.
Don worked on the water pump line at Cummins Engine Company, retiring after 31 years of service. After retirement, he was a manager at LHP.
Don has participated in dirt track racing, was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcycle fan, and had owned two Harleys.
Don is survived by his mother, Irene Barnett of Columbus; a daughter, Melissa (Randy) Roberts of Kentucky; a sister, Cathy Clem of Columbus; a brother David (Sherry) Barnett of Columbus; and eight nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Earl T. Barnett; his wife, Pamela L. Crecelius Barnett; sisters, Anita West and Wilma Perry; and a brother, Darrell L. Barnett.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
