Robert L. Conway, 84, of County Road 200W, died at 8:35 a.m. August 3, 2014, at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.
Robert was born October 25, 1929, in Seymour, Indiana, the son of James Alfred and Bessie E. Emmons Conway. He married Rosann Kindred on January 5, 1951. Rosann died August 2, 2014, 18 hours before Robert.
Robert had been employed as a supervisor at Cummins Engine Company. He was a member of Jackson County Masonic Lodge No. 146 for 55 years and was a member of the York Rite. Robert was also a 50-year member of New Hope Christian Church.
Robert loved to hunt and fish, especially with his son, Rob.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. John Sichting officiating. Calling will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Home in Franklin, Indiana, Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility, or New Hope Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert E. Conway of Greensburg; a daughter, Kathy A. (Steven H. ) Phillips of Columbus; grandchildren, Damen J. (Tina) Conway, Robert L. Conway, Jessica A. Sandifer, Brian S. (Jennifer) Phillips and Brent Robert (Dana) Phillips; great-grandchildren, Tia Conway, Robert Preston Conway, Francis Anthony Phillips, Maxwell Steven Phillips, and Veronica Christine Phillips; and several special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a beloved daughter-in-law, Debra L. Conway; and a sister, Ruby L. Conway Treat.
