Pauline Natalie Chambers, 98, of Columbus died at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Four Seasons Health Care Center.
She was born in Bartholomew County, February 24, 1916, the daughter of George T. and Mary Long Leslie. She married William G. Chambers September 4, 1936 in Columbus. He preceded her in death December 22, 1976.
Early in her life she worked for Columbus Gravel Company and the Red Cross Motor Corps. She was a partner with her husband in Chambers Vending Service from 1936 to 1976. She was an l934 graduate of Columbus High School and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Chambers is survived by her grandson, Aaron B. (Carrie E. Dettmer) Chambers of Columbus; a nephew, Tom Leslie of Shelbyville; and a cousin, Mike Bova of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Timothy G. and Terry Chambers; a brother, Arvine Leslie; and a daughter-in-law, Sandy Chambers.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Garland Brook Cemetery with the Rev. Howard Boles officiating.
