Sandra Kay Strietelmeier, 58, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014. She was born Jan. 15, 1956, in Columbus, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Steinkamp Strietelmeier.

Sandra graduated from Columbus High School in 1974 and attended Purdue University. She worked at Becton Dickinson for more than 30 years. Sandra was a dog lover and enjoyed listening to all kinds of music.

She was a longtime member of Unity Church of Madison, actively involved with the Prayer Ministry and the Prayer Chaplain Program.

Every once in awhile you meet one of those people that are pure love. Sandy was one of those people. Her capacity for love was only limited by the time she was here. Evidence of her focus on loving was the large collection of hearts of every size and shape. She was love, she was loved, and she was loving.

Sandra is survived by her mother, Elizabeth; brother, Mark (Cindy) Strietelmeier; nephew, Ed (Laura) Strietelmeier; niece, Kate (Tony) Homan; great-nephew, Ike Homan; great-nieces, Nora and Elizabeth Strietelmeier; her dog, Beacon; housemate, Carl Swanson; and many loved friends and Unity Church family and prayer chaplains.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the UNITY CHURCH OF MADISON, 601 Tompkins Drive, Madison with the Rev. Norman Marshall presiding. Burial will take place at Garland Brook Cemetery Columbus at a later date.

A special thank you is extended to Agrace HospiceCare, loved ones and caregivers from Unity Church and Pat Arnold for all their wonderful care given to Sandy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare and/or Light and Love Ministries. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com
