Sandra Kay Holcomb, 68, of Columbus, passed from this life at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Holcomb was working as a clerical employee at Cummins Engine Company where she had been employed 48 years. She was a past secretary-treasurer of the Office Committee Union and a past board member at Ceraland.
She cared about many people and contributed to many local organizations.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Brian Gilroy officiating.
Family and friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, Hoosier Hills Food Bank, or the Brooke Nichole Lahr Foundation.

Born in Indianapolis April 5, 1946, Mrs. Holcomb was the daughter of Virgil and Edith Taylor Beasley. She married David L. Holcomb August 18, 1972.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Dee Dee (Joe) Haddad of Indianapolis; a half sister, Karen Johnson of Columbus; grandchildren, Jake and Katie Haddad; a stepson, Chris (Cassie) Holcomb of Hardinsburg; a stepgrandchild, Shelby Holcomb; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mrs. Holcomb was preceded in death by her parents; a half brother, Steve Jones; and a half sister, Phyllis Smith.
