Patricia A. Holcomb, 79, of Columbus, died at 7:59 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Patricia was born in Medora, Indiana, on March 17, 1932, to the late Ralph and Flora Myers McClintock. She was a graduate of Medora High School. On December 8, 1951, she Married Earl “Tandy” Holcomb who preceded her in death on May 12, 1987.

She worked for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation for over 30 years as a library aide. She was one of the first to work with mainframe computers in the 1950’s and helped usher in the computer era and computer labs and also facilitated the transition from the index card system to computer at the library.

Patricia enjoyed fishing, “going to the boat,” and watching golf, IU basketball and tennis. She loved spending time with her family and friends and took many vacations with her special “Three Musketeers” – her sister Beverly, niece Vickie, and her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to hospice volunteer JoAnn Ison for her 25 years of unwavering support for both Patricia and Tandy.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Garland Brook Cemetery with Rev. Dennis White officiating.

Family and friends may call from noon until 1:45 p.m. on Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Patricia is survived by her children, Robert (Eloa) Holcomb of Tennessee, Rick Holcomb of Columbus and Kimra Holcomb of Bloomington; grandchildren, Steven (Christina) Holcomb, Corey Holcomb, Tandy Holcomb, Ericka Holcomb and Ethan Chen-Xeno; a great-grandchild, Cayden Holcomb; brothers, Bill McClintock of Florida, Jack McClintock of Florida and Jerry McClintock of Mitchell, IN; a sister, Beverly Ackeret of Seymour; lots of special nieces and nephews; and her buddies, Zeke, Lola and Griffin.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Regina Temple, Vivian “Tootie” Messer, Wanda Sage, and Betty DeLoach; and a brother, Robert McClintock.
