Donald Wayne Coy, 76, of Hope, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Columbus
Regional Hospital.
An Arvin retiree, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He attended Hope
United Methodist Church and loved woodworking, IU basketball, fishing, NASCAR
and gardening.
The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Rev.
Ed Mead officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home and on Monday
from noon until service time. Burial with military graveside rites will be at Hope Moravian
Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Bartholomew County Cancer Society.

Born July 20, 1936, in St. Louis Crossing, Mr. Coy was the son of Virgil and Ruby Andrews
Coy. He married Jeannine Smith June 8, 1980, and she survives.
Other survivors include children, Sally Willey of Shelbyville, Susan (Tony) Wilson and Joe
Coy of Hope, Bryan (Yvonne) Ritz of Scipio and Natalie (Richard) Pelsor of Madison; seven
grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Mr. Coy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Allen and Keith Coy; a sister,
Carol Coy; a grandson, Anthony Wilson Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Dillion, Blane and Kaydenze Burton.
