Kay Whitlock, 71, of Edinburgh, died at 7:43 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

Mrs. Whitlock was a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph Nursing School in Pittsburgh, Pa. A former Coronary Care Unit manager at Columbus Regional Hospital, she retired in 1997 from St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove where she worked in open heart recovery.

She was a member of Edinburgh American Legion Auxiliary No. 233 and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh, where she was past president of the Parish Council, and was an avid reader.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Paul Shikany officiating. Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Born in Pittsburgh March 18, 1941, Mrs. Whitlock was the daughter of William F. and Regina Waddell Greenberg. She married Larry Whitlock Jan. 27, 1962.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Dean Whitlock of Fort Wayne and Dane (Jolinda Dodd) Whitlock of Columbus; daughters, Tracy (Rick) Swift of Indianapolis and Kimberly (Mike) Criss of New Palestine; grandchildren, Christopher Swift, Matthew Whitlock, Christopher Pierce, Adam Swift, Audrey Whitlock, Marcus Swift and Jarod Criss; a brother, Jack (Jan) Greenberg of McMurray, Pa.; and sisters, Regina (Tim) Peoples of Florida and Roberta (Pat) Nolan of Greensburg, Pa.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William L. Greenberg.
