Brenda Faye (Burton) Smith, 64, of Nashville, passed away May 1, 2012. She was born April 30, 1948, in Adair County, Ky., the daughter of Edgar Ray and Dollie Francis (Burton) Burton.
Brenda was a housewife and a great cook. She enjoyed working at the flea market and was a member of Country Gospel Music Church.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Smith, Nashville; her mother, Dollie Burton of Columbia, KY; a son, Mark Stargell of Nashville; stepdaughters, Denise Hancock of Indianapolis and Donna Maples of Brownsburg; grandchildren, Melinda Stargell of Franklin, Joshua Stargell of Nineveh, Matthew Stargell of Nashville, Heather and Sarah Maples of Brownsburg and Zachary and Joshua Hancock of Indianapolis; one great-grandchild, Jaidlynn Hancock; and brothers, Donnie, Roger, and Eddie Burton of Columbia, KY.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A funeral service will be held Monday, May 7, at 11:00 a.m. at the Country Gospel Music Church, 5181 State Road 46 East, Nashville. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh. The family will receive visitors at the church on Sunday, May 6, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
