Starene Lee Bertram, 60, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away at her home on May 3, 2012, at 9:00 a.m.
Mrs. Bertram was born on May 17, 1951, in North Vernon, Indiana,the daughter of Brown and
Mary Ella Fletcher Johnson. She married Stewart Bertram on October 9, 1967, at Wilson Chapel in Elizabethtown, Indiana. He survives.
Mrs. Bertram worked for Walmart in North Vernon, Indiana, as an assistant manager for fourteen years and retired in 2002. She loved playing card games, watching TV and her dog, Boo.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Johnson of North Vernon, Indiana; her husband William Stewart Bertram of North Vernon, Indiana; two daughters; Christina (Albert) Lee Bertram Stormes and Holly (Darren) Mills, all of North Vernon, Indiana; a brother, Ronald C. Johnson of North Vernon, Indiana; two sisters, Theresa (Randy) Clendenning of South Carolina and Mary (Jim) Gillispie of North Vernon, Indiana; six grandchildren, Catherine E., William J. and Collin M. Partridge, Megan A., Cameron T. and Austin Z. Mills, all of North Vernon, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her father, Brown Johnson, and a brother, Granville Johnson.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery in North Vernon, Indiana, with Rev. Daryl Amis officiating. Friends and family may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012, at Dove- Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.
