Mary E. Seabrook Elliott, 93, went to be with the Lord at 10:36 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was surrounded by the love of her family as they sang hymns and shared stories about her.
Mary was a member of Bible Church of Columbus, and was also a long standing member of the Sandcreek Township Extension Homemakers club. She attended several Bible studies over the years.
A kid at heart, Mary loved to play games with the children. She was a wonderful inspiration as mother and grandmother, and she found great joy in giving to others, studying the Bible, going to church and singing hymns. She was an avid letter writer, and enjoyed needlepoint.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Day Sr. officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time on Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Born June 20, 1918 in Tipp City, Ohio, she was the daughter of Samuel Vey and Lottie Moore. Mary graduated in 1936 from West Milton High School, in West Milton, Ohio.
She married Keith Seabrook, April 11, 1937 in Fredrick, Ohio and they had eight children. Survivors include Marilyn (Jack) Henry, of Largo, Fla., Dorothy (Bruce) Baker, of Massillon, Ohio, Kathy Roberts, David (Sue) Seabrook, Bonnie (Phil) Herkamp, Janet (Jim) AmRhein and Nancy (Tony) Grimes, all of Columbus.
Mary had 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mary and her loving husband Keith and their family moved to Indiana from Ohio in 1962.
Keith died January 13, 1968. She married Sam Elliott, October 26, 1969 who later died on June 18, 1974.
She has one living sister, Dorothy Jean Smith, in West Milton, Ohio. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Mari Keirn; and a grandson, Scott Henry.
