Shaylee Alexandra Zike, 18, of Seymour, IN, passed away on May 14, 2012, in Louisville, KY, at University Hospital.
Shaylee had worked for her father, Ronnie, at Elite Tree Service. She had been baptized in the Lutheran Church and found enjoyment through skateboarding, traveling with her mother, camping and being with her family. She viewed her life as an adventure and pursued her life with a passion in so many ways.
Born September 10, 1993, in Seymour, Indiana, she was a daughter of Ronnie (Michelle) Zike of Freetown and Leisa Collins of Greenwood, Indiana.
Other survivors include one sister, LaJeanna Paige Collins; one brother, Ashton Alan Zike; paternal grandmother, Susan Heller; paternal great-grandmother, Juanita M. Fee; and maternal grandmother, Marilyn Collins.
There are many aunts, uncles and cousins who survive and she considered many of her friends to be family, too.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Paul Zike; paternal stepgrandfather, Randy Heller; paternal great-grandfather, Frank “Judge” Fee Sr.; maternal grandfather, James Warren Collins; and maternal great-grandparents, Noble E. and Kathryn Weddell Nowland.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 17, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brownstown Church of the Nazarene, 616 W. Commerce Street, Brownstown, IN. On Friday, family and friends may call at the church from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Scott Erwin will officiate at the funeral with burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.
Memorial donations will be applied toward expenses associated with a fitting memorial at the cemetery.
