Philip Stephen Crouse, 48, of Columbus, passed away Saturday May 26,2012, at Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, Ariz., where he was undergoing treatment for a brain tumor.
Philip had been employed as a production associate for LNP/Sabic in Columbus. He was a 1982 graduate of Hauser High School, attended Ball Sate University and served in the U.S Marine Corps for two years.
Philip was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church in Hope, Ind., loved to hunt and fish, loved his Dobermans and had been a volunteer for the SOAR program at Wishard Memorial Hospital Burn Center. He was also an organ donor.
Born in New Castle on April 8, 1964, he was the son of Jerry D and Ileen Stephens Crouse. His parents survive and live in Shelbyville. He married Mellisa Patton in 1992. She prceded him in death in 1996.
Philip was a devoted father and grandfather and is survived by his children, Katelyn, Stephenie and Jacob Crouse, all of Columbus; a grandson, Stephen Blake Andis of Columbus; his significant other, Jennifer Everroad of Columbus; a sister, Cherlyn (Joel) Wesley of Plainfield; and brothers, Tim (Geania) Crouse of Brown County and Charlie (Angie) Crouse of Shelbyville.
The funeral will be conducted Sunday at the Hope United Methodist Church at 4:00 p.m., with Rev. Randall Slavens and Rev. Mary Ann Hawkins officiating. Viewing hours will be on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope and on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Cremation is planned with burial at Hope Moravian Cemetery at a later date.
Philip was preceded in death by his wife Mellisa.
