Lloyd Jack Burton, 81, of Edinburgh, died at 9:52 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Mr. Burton was a former employee of Amos-Hill Associates in Edinburgh and was a 20-year employee of Bush's Market in Columbus. He was a member of Whosoever Will Community Church in Edinburgh and Edinburgh American Legion Post No. 233 and was a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting.
A graveside service was conducted Saturday at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Military graveside rites were conducted by Edinburgh American Legion Post No. 233.
Arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
Born in Edinburgh Jan. 6, 1931, Mr. Burton was the son of William Lucian and Gertrude (Burton) Burton. He married Evelyn Louise Weber Sept. 11, 1954. She preceded him in death March 30, 1998.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Dolph, Orville and Carl Burton; sisters, Emma Smith, Dorothy Betz and Rebecca Weber; and a brother-in-law, Robert "Bobby" Weber.
