Elisha "Sam" Morris, 63, of Cottage Avenue, died at 1:14 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at Columbus Regional Hospital Emergency Room.
Mr. Morris was raised in Indiana and had lived in Columbus since 1971. He was a 1967 graduate of Jackson Township High School and had worked at Cummins Inc., Cosco, Indiana Die Cast and Camp Atterbury.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and enjoyed fishing, NASCAR racing, coin collecting and collecting antiques.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with the Rev. Connie Barr officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Cremation is planned and burial will be at a later date at Bear Creek Cemetery south of Alert.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American Heart Association.

Born in Hazard, Ky., April 4, 1949, Mr. Morris was the son of Virgil and Allie Smith Morris.
Survivors include a daughter, Samantha Jane Morris of Columbus; sisters, Rosie Barnes of Elizabethtown, Jan Morris of Westport and Mary Kuntz of North Vernon; and a brother, Ed Morris of Westport.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Clinton Morris.
