Darrell W. "Dog" Barnsfather, 56, of 8th Street, died at 2:24 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012, at his home.

Darrell was a machinist at Reliance Electric for 20 years.

He was a member of the Columbus Moose Lodge, where he served as a bartender and was a member and past vice-president of the Eagles Lodge.

Darrell's hobbies included playing softball and riding motorcycles and he always enjoyed his annual participation in the Miracle Ride to benefit Riley Hospital for Children.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Section 65 at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born in Columbus October 3, 1955, Darrell was the son of Charles E. and Patsy R. Blythe Barnsfather.

Survivors include daughters, Ileah Barnsfather and Jessica Barnsfather (Randy Firestone), both of Columbus, and Angela Shehan of Edinburgh; his significant other, Vicki Barger of Columbus; grandchildren, Kyson Ray Firestone, Skylar Shehan and Destiny Day; a sister, Ann Stout of Port Richey, Fla.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins, including a special uncle, Putt Barnsfather of Columbus.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Lynn David Barnsfather.
