James L. “Jim” Stegemiller, 61, passed away June 26, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born May 4, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio and grew up in Rising Sun and resided in Johnson County most of his life before moving to Pendleton seven years ago.
Jim was 1973 graduate of Purdue University.
He was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Pendleton, He loved old cars, golfing, working in the yard and especially hanging out at his pool.
Jim retired from Hayes Lemmerz Inc. in Northville, Michigan and previously was employed over 20 years at Arvin-Meritor Industries in Columbus and Franklin.
Survivors include his wife, Karen L. (Brown) Stegemiller whom he married June 18, 1971; two children, Jodi L. (husband, Eric N.) Hale of Fishers and Chad M. (wife, Anna) Stegemiller of Shelbyville; grandson, Everett Stegemiller; brother, Rick (wife, Sherrie) Stegemiller of Lawrenceburg; and sister, Kim Stegemiller of Fishers.
He was preceded n death by his parents, Grant and Mildred (Fredenburgh) Stegemiller.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 225 W. State St., Pendleton, with Pastor Doug Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pendleton First United Methodist Church Mortgage Fund or the American Cancer Society.
