RIDGELAND, South Carolina — A former employee of a group of local car dealerships has been sentenced to prison for embezzling more than $130,000 from the Beaufort County business.
Solicitor Duffie Stone says 33-year-old Jessica Goodman of Garnett was sentenced Thursday to two years in prison.
Goodman pleaded guilty to one count of breach of trust over $10,000. A judge also ordered her to repay the money, which officials say she embezzled over a three-year period.
Goodman worked in the accounting department of the New River Auto Mall. Prosecutors say she stole the money between October 2009 and October 2012, and authorities traced the money back to her bank account.
