Share/Save/Bookmark

MANSFIELD, Massachusetts — Fire officials in Mansfield say a young man pulled unconscious from a swimming pool in town last weekend has died.

Chief Neal Boldrighini tells The Sun Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1xM5JJE) that the man, who was in his early 20s, was unconscious after bystanders pulled him from a pool shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday.

When fire officials arrived, bystanders had already performed CPR on the victim.

Boldrighini says the man was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, where he died.

The chief could not provide the man's name, his exact age, or where he was from, except to say that he wasn't a local.
