WASHINGTON — Police in Washington say a man has died after being shot by an officer after allegedly pulling out a handgun during an altercation.
Authorities say an officer conducting an investigation tried to speak to a man, who ran away. Police say the officer ran after the man and an altercation ensued. Authorities say the man produced a handgun and refused the officer's repeated demanded that he drop the weapon.
Police say the officer fired his service weapon and hit the man several times.
Twenty-six-year-old Robert Brown of Washington died at a hospital.
The incident is under investigation.
