Tupelo man sentenced to 10 years in prison for armed robbery

TUPELO, Mississippi — A Tupelo man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty in an armed robbery in the city of Tupelo last year.

WTVA-TV in Tupelo reports (http://bit.ly/XAsKmo ) 19-year-old Adrian McCoy entered the plea during a hearing in Lee County Circuit Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutors say McCoy was among three people charged with armed robbery, strong armed robbery, kidnapping and aggravated assault in July of 2013.

Prosecutors say the trio allegedly approached the victim outside his home and forced him inside at knife point and robbing him. The victim was also stabbed in the incident.
