BOSTON — U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton is planning to meet with members of the state's medical community to highlight a bill aimed at rolling back a tax aimed at medical device makers.

The Massachusetts Democrat is one of more than 270 co-sponsors of the bipartisan Protect Medical Innovation Act.

Moulton will tour the Abiomed facilities in Danvers on Monday, followed by a press conference with Abiomed and MassMEDIC executives before discussing the bill.

Other members of Massachusetts all-Democratic congressional delegation — Reps. Joe Kennedy, Catherine Clark, William Keating and Stephen Lynch — have also co-sponsored the measure.

The state's two Democratic senators — Edward Markey and Elizabeth Warren — support rescinding the tax, which was included in President Barack Obama's 2010 health care law.

Massachusetts is home to many medical device companies.
