Trial moved to October for man accused of posing as firefighter during High Park Fire

FORT COLLINS, Colorado — The trial for a man accused of impersonating a firefighter during the High Park wildfire in northern Colorado is now set to start Oct. 15.

The Coloradoan reports (http://noconow.co/18xfehh ) Michael Stillman Maher's trial was to have started next week, but his attorney asked for more time to prepare after prosecutors altered details of some of the charges against Maher.

Investigators say Maher was dressed as a firefighter when he entered a restricted area during the High Park Fire in June. They allege he had phony credentials and a truck with stolen government plates, plus food and supplies stolen from fire crews.

Maher faces similar charges in Jefferson County in connection with the Lower North Fork Fire last year. His trial in that case is set to start June 18.
