BLYTHEVILLE, Arkansas — The Paragould-Blytheville High School football game ended with a bench-clearing brawl.

The Blytheville Courier News reports (http://bit.ly/10LsKS9 ) that the Friday night game at Blytheville was called off with 4:36 to play and Paragould leading 34-15.

The incident began after a seven-yard run by a Paragould player and players from both teams began fighting on the field. Both team benches cleared as players went onto the field while coaches and officials worked to bring the situation under control.

Blytheville coach Ben Fisher and athletic director David Hixson both said they're not sure what started the incident.

Hixson said game officials will submit a report to the Arkansas Activities Association.
