INDIANAPOLIS — A spokesman says moving this year's Indiana State Fair concerts to downtown Indianapolis shouldn't hurt the fair's bottom line.
He says people who buy tickets to August's downtown shows will get a ticket they can use any day of the Aug. 3rd-19th fair.
Fair attendance is traditionally tied to big-name concerts, but this year's shows have been moved to Banker's Life Fieldhouse following the Aug. 13 stage rigging collapse that killed seven people at the fairgrounds.
Fair spokesman Andy Klotz tells the Indianapolis Business Journal (http://bit.ly/Il4SYD ) moving the shows downtown shouldn't affect the fair's bottom line. He says people who buy tickets to August's downtown shows will get a ticket they can use any day of the Aug. 3rd-19th fair.
Barry Manilow kicks of this year's concerts with an Aug. 3 show, followed by Train on Aug. 4, Journey, Pat Benatar and Loverboy on Aug. 8 and Blake Shelton on Aug. 17.
