COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — A jury has found a Colorado Springs man guilty of murder and other charges connected to his crumbling marriage and divorce.
Bruce Nozolino was convicted of first-degree murder Friday for killing his ex-wife's former lover. He also was convicted of wounding his ex-wife's divorce lawyer and shooting into the home of the judge presiding over his divorce.
Judge Victor I. Reyes sentenced Nozolino to life in prison without the chance of parole, plus 288 years.
Nozolino was found guilty in the 2008 shooting death of Richard Schreiner, who prosecutors said had an affair with Nozolino's wife years earlier.
Prosecutors portrayed Nozolino as a bully who tried to control people's lives with violence.
The defense said the case against Nozolino was based on fear, speculation and thin evidence.
