COLLEGE PARK, Maryland — Prince George's County Police say a man was fatally injured when he was hit by a car in College Park.

Officers say 23-year-old Carlos Pacanins of Chevy Chase was trying to cross Baltimore Avenue about 10:20 p.m. Friday when he was hit by a car. Authorities say the driver remained at the scene.

Police say Pacanins died of his injuries Sunday. Investigators say he was walking in or near a crosswalk, but a "Don't Walk" signal was flashing.
