NORWICH, New York — An upstate New York man has received the maximum sentence for the murder of his wife.

Ganesh Ramsaran of Norwich was sentenced Monday in Chenango County Court to 25 years to life in prison in connection with the death of Jennifer Ramsaran two years ago. Her naked, frozen body was found in a rural field three months after he reported her missing.

Ramsaran, who was convicted of second-degree murder in September, faces separate bribery charges for allegedly offering a corrections officer $100,000 to help him escape from the Chenango County Jail.
