Long Island man charged with producing child pornography

CENTRAL ISLIP, New York — A Long Island man has been charged with producing child pornography.

According to court papers, Vincent Calamia of Floral Park was arrested Tuesday after FBI agents raided his house and found videotapes of him engaging in sexual contact with teenager boys.

Newsday ( ) says he was held without bail after appearing in federal court in Central Islip. Calamia was not required to enter a plea.

Authorities say they're investigating allegations that some of the victims were drugged before being videotaped.

His attorney asked that his 48-year-old client be held in protective custody given the nature of the charges.

He says Calamia has owned Frankie & Vinnie's bar in Floral Park for about 20 years.
