ATLANTA — Authorities say a man has been struck and killed by a Jeep in an early morning hit-and-run crash.

Fulton County police say the wreck happened shortly before 1 a.m. Monday on Old National Highway at Burdett Road outside Atlanta.

Witnesses told police the man was standing at a bus stop when a light-colored Jeep Wrangler jumped the curb, ran over the man and drove off. The victim's name was not immediately released.

Fulton County police say they were investigating whether a Jeep found later on Godby Road was the vehicle involved. WXIA-TV reports (http://on.11alive.com/1Ex4HTX) that it has significant damage to the passenger side.
