BEAVER, Pennsylvania — A man convicted of killing a couple while their young children were locked in another room has been sentenced to two consecutive life terms plus additional time for related and previous charges.

Twenty-seven-year-old Devon Shealey of Pittsburgh was sentenced Thursday. He was convicted in June of the 2008 murders of Richard and Demetria Harper, who were found bound and shot in the basement of their Beaver Falls home in what authorities allege was a drug dispute over less than $2,000.

The couple were bound and shot in the head, while their 8 and 10-year-old daughters were locked in the basement.

Thirty-seven-year-old Robert Burgess is also scheduled to go on trial in October in the case.
